Dear
Friends,
Thousands
of lives in our community are touched every day by United
Way
of Scioto County.
The mission of United
Way is to improve the quality of life for the people in our
community. Partnering with individuals and organizations throughout
the area, United Way of Scioto County focuses on addressing
the important issues that face our county, such as helping
children and youth succeed, strengthening and supporting families, promoting
self-sufficiency, building vital and safe neighborhoods, and
supporting vulnerable and aging populations.
United Way of Scioto County
conducts its annual drive so many agencies can carry out their
missions. Through a single donation, you can help these organizations
touch more lives. It also strengthens our community by uniting
us as we work toward our goal.
In 2003-2004, United Way
of Scioto County exceeded its goal raising $320,000 from the
campaign. Our goal for 2004-2005 is $300,000.
Organizations that will
benefit from this year's campaign include:
· American Red
Cross
· Boy Scouts of America
· Catholic Social Services
· Community Services for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
· Girl Scouts-Seal of Ohio
· Operation Baby Buckle
· Operation Safety Net
· Pastoral Counseling Center
· REACH
· Retired and Senior Volunteer Program
· Salvation Army
· Sierra's Haven
· Ohio Valley Audio Link (formerly Scioto Radio Reading
Service)
· SCM-West End Day Care
· S.O.T.F.D.V.
United Way only invests
in non-profit, tax-exempt charity organizations governed by
volunteers, and Scioto County organizations receive 99.3 percent
of every dollar raised.
United Way is important
to our community. Please give what you can to support the
causes this important organization supports. Together we can
improve the quality of life for everyone in our region.
